As a founding member of the Sinister Six, his presence was initially teased in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).

In the Marvel Comics, Kraven is portrayed as a Russian nobleman forced to immigrate to America in 1917 due to the February Revolution. In August 2018, they enlisted the talents of Richard Wenk to pen an enthralling screenplay for "Kraven the Hunter."
